How to Master Reset to factory defaults

Meaning of "Call for Service" message and how to clear it

Setting Day and Time

Battery Replacement

Master Reset

Pull down the curved panel door. Using a stylus or ball point pen, press and hold in the reset button. The RESET button is the little button to the left of the four buttons located on the bottom row. At the same time, press and hold the NO button. The NO button is the furthest right button on the bottom row. Hold both of these buttons in for 10 seconds or until the LCD display completely fills with characters. Release both buttons, and press the RUN button. The talking thermostat should now be reset to factory defaults. To verify, press on the report button and the time reported should be 12:0x AM.

Call For Service message and how to clear it

This message is a reminder to the homeowner that they should think about getting their heating - cooling system checked out before the upcoming heating or cooling season. This message is generated by a timer within the talking thermostat and occurs about every 6 to 12 months. Again, this is just a reminder and does not indicate there is a problem with your heating - cooling system or thermostat.

To clear and reset this message, press and hold the NO button for 10 seconds. The NO button is located behind the door on the front of the thermostat. The NO button is on the bottom row of four buttons and is the far right button.

Setting the DAY and TIME

  1. Pull down the curved panel door.
  2. Press the DAY/TIME button (bottom row far left).
  3. Press the YES button (upper row, far right) when asked if you wish to change the day or time setting.
  4. Press YES button when asked if you wish voice instructions.
  5. Press the UP or DOWN Keys (to the right of LCD display screen) to make changes to minutes, hours and day settings.
  6. Press the RUN button (bottom row second button from the left) to accept changes until “Program Completed” is heard.

Battery Replacement

To replace the batteries, first remove the front body of the thermostat by pressing your thumb on the plastic clasp located in the middle of the channel along lower edge. While pushing up on the clasp with your thumb, carefully pull and upward tilt the front body until detached.

Four AA batteries are located at the inside top of the front body. Press the batteries upward to remove them from bracket and replace with fresh AA alkaline batteries. Make sure the positive ends of the new batteries are inserted facing the "non-spring" positive terminals of the battery compartment. Note: installing batteries the wrong way can damage the thermostat. After installing new batteries, you may have to reset the day, time and any temperature settings you had programmed.
